Ferozepur, March 4, 2016:  Under ‘Mukh Manti Tirath Yatra Scheme’ started by the Punjab Government, a special train will take the devotees of Ferozepur Cantt railway station rural areas for pilgrimage to Naned Sahib on March 30.

This was disclosed by Er.DPS Kharbanda, Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur and Joginder Singh Jindu, MLA Ferozepur Rural while presiding over the meeting called to review the arrangements.

Added here, under the plan, about 1000 persons from each of the 117 constituencies have been selected for the pilgrimage. Respective Deputy Commissioners have screened and selected the beneficiaries for the scheme. Over Rs 180 crore has been earmarked for the scheme.

Joginder Singh Jindu, MLA said, under the scheme, the trains have also been arranged for pilgrimage of devotees for Ajmer Sharif, Varanasi, Shri Salasar Dham and other religious places.

The “Mukh Mantri Tirath Yatra Yojana is yet another attempt of the Punjab government to preserve and promote the majestic culture and royal heritage of Punjab apart from giving opportunity to those poor families weak from economic point of view, who cannot afford to travel at such a long distances. All arrangements right from home to railway station apart from lodging and boarding will be borne by the Punjab Government, he added.

Er.Kharbanda said, the train will be flagged off on March 30 for Naned
Sahib, for 1000 devotees and list of passengers is being forwarded to the railways.

He said, those who will be boarding the train must keep their beddings and identity proof with them while travelling. The train will reach Naned Sahib on April 1 at 3.30 am after covering 45 hours journey. The train will leave for back journey on April 2 night at 12.30 am.  He however, appealed to the passengers not to take the child below 5 years age.
