NGO, Police, Transport departments jointly celebrate jointly United Nations Road Safety Week in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, May 20, 2023: NGO, Police, Transport departments jointly celebrated jointly United Nations Road Safety Week today in Ferozepur.
The United Nations Road Safety Week is being celebrated from May 15 to 21, to create awareness among the people about the pluses and minuses of following the the road safety rules.
Mayank Foundation – a leading NGO, Traffic Awareness Cell of police department and Regional Transport Authority jointly visited various government and private schools to create awareness among the students to strictly follow the road safety rules.
Speaking on the occasion, Deepak Sharma Founder Mayank Foundation, who lost his son in road accident, has dedicated himself to road safety awareness programmes. He asked the students to make the road safety signs as their icon.
Lakhbir Singh, incharge Traffic Awareness Cell highlighting the alarming statistics of deaths in road accidents, also advised the students to strictly follow the road safety rules. He said, it is a decision of fraction of seconds on the road while over taking the vehicle, which can not only save your life but keep happy the family members.
An official from transport office, Ravinder Bhatti asked the students and general public to keep updated the required documents of RC, driving licence insurance and pollution to avoid challan by the the police and feeling free of stress while driving.
