National Lok Adalat on July 8

Ferozepur, July 3, 2017. Lok Adalat is one of the modes of Alternative Dispute Resolution and to make the National Lok Adalat more successful in the district on July 8, a bench of judicial officers and executive officers will be formed at district level, in which cases of common people will be settled through Lok Adalat process.

This information was given by the Chairman District Legal Services Authority cum District and Sessions Judge S K Agrawal during a press conference.

He said, till date, 1216 and 209 pre-litigator cases have been identified for establishment of the National Lok Adalat.

On this occasion Mr. Baljinder Singh Mann Secretary District Legal Services Authority was also present.

SK Aggarwal said that on July 8, a massive public court was being organized in all the courts of sub-divisional court of Ferozepur district, in order to resolve the maximum cases.

He said that this National Lok Adalat would be held in every case such as NI. Act case under section 138, bank recovery case, labor dispute cases, agreement for power and water disputes, other (criminal proceedings, marital dispute cases and other civil disputes), Land Acquisition Case, Service Matters, revenues and other civil cases related to salaries and allowances and retirement benefits will be considered for settlement and settlement of cases with mutual consent of both parties.

Presently, 124 cases out of 1146 cases and 53 cases of 133 pre-litigative cases were disposed of in the previous National Lok Adalat with the consent of both the parties, he added.

He further said, the Chairman District Legal Services Authority said that to make the success of the National Lok Adalat, all possible efforts will be made to present cases under mutual coordination and cooperation of the concerned departments in Lok Adalat under their department.

He further said that to make the National Lok Adalat more successful, the bench of judicial officers will be formed at the district level, in which cases of common people will be settled through the process of Lok Adalat. They urged the lawyers, social workers organizations and journalists to motivate the common people to take their cases pending in their respective courts by applying them to the National Lok Adalat.

The cases will be disposed of in the Lok Adalat with the consent of both parties and in this Lok Adalat, pre-litigative cases which have not yet been filed in the court, the cases will be settled in this Lok Adalat, he added.

He said that the decision in Lok Adalat has been recognized and there are no appeals and arguments for the cases which were decided in Lok Adalat.

Apart from this, he said that these decisions are satisfactory and both parties get rid of litigation and other mental harassment because the decision of the Lok Adalats are final.
