Municipal Council celebrates World Environment Day
Ferozepur, June 5, 2020: Like previous years, this year also World Environment Day was celebrated by planting with minimum assembly in view of the lockdown period in the wake corona threat, under the tutelage of Parminder Singh Sukhija, Executive Officer.
Saplings of shadow trees were planted from Press Club chowk to Baghi Hospital road. Besides, the organic manure prepared domestic garbage by the Municipal Council was also distributed creating awareness among the people.
The nests for birds having the provision of water and feed, with the assistance of Helping Hand NGO, were also hanged at the suitable places.
Sukhpal Singh SI on this occasion made an appeal to the citizens to come forward to save the envorinment and avoid burning of garbage besides making the use of water judiciously. He also urged the people to make habit of preparing the manure from the kitchen waste for use in the plants. He said, taking care of the plants after plantation is more important to see them grown up.
Present on this occasion were ME SS Behal, JE Luvpreet, Gurinder Singh, Programme Coordinator Simaranjit Singh and Amarndeep Singh and motivator team members.
