Mobile, banned items found in 4 throws in Jail
Ferozepur, February 2, 2024: Despite three-layer security arrangements at the entry points and outside the open space near the boundary wall, the throwing of packets over the high walls inside the jail remained unnoticed.
As many as 4 throws were managed inside the jail and on opening one mobile and 38 sachets of tobacco were seized. Further on a search operation conducted by Sukhinder Singh, Assistant Superintendent, in block number 3, barrack number 5, one mobile touch screen with a SIM Card was found dumped on the backside in the open space.
Earlier, during January, 65 mobiles and various prohibited items were seized and the recovery of mobiles had gone up to 500 during the last year. More stringent measures have to be adopted to plug the smuggling of banned items.
Meanwhile, a case under the Prisons Act has been registered on the complaint of the Assistant Superintendent and further investigations are on with the IO.
