Mega Blood Donation Camp organised in SBS Technical Campus- 243 Units deposited in Blood Bank
Ferozepur, October 1,2016 : Under the threat of war looming and rising tension on the border area belt of Punjab State, A MEGA Blood Donation Camp was organized at Shaheed Bhagat Singh State Technical Campus jointly by Achiever’s Society (Poly Wing), Eco Friendly Group (EFG), NSS unit (I and IV) and Red Ribbon Clubs (Engineering & Poly Wing) of SBS Technical Campus in association with various Youth Clubs associated with Youth Services Department, Ferozepur; District Red Cross Society, Ferozepur; Shanti Vidya Mandir; Lions Club Ferozepur Satluj; HDFC Bank and Rotary Club Ferozepur Cantt.
The inauguration of this camp was done was by Campus Director Dr. T. S. Sidhu. Dr. (Mrs.) Rajinder Kaur Sooch, Pro Vice Chairperson Managing Committee Delhi Public School, Ferozepur were Guest of Honour. Prof Gazal Preet Singh, Principal Polytechnic Wing was coordinator of this Blood Donation Camp. This Camp was dedicated to Bhai Kanhaiya Ji, who was epitome of Sewa and founder of sevapanthi sect. Bhai Kanhaiya Ji taught us principals to serve selflessly: treat all equally and serve with compassion & love.
Total 243 units of blood was collected during this Camp, in which students of Polytechnic & Engineering Wing of this State Technical Campus; students of Government polytechnic College, Ferozepur; students of DAV College for Women, Ferozepur donated their blood.
Three teams of Blood Bank from local Civil Hospital, Ferozepur, Guru Nanak Dev Hospital, Amritsar and Raghunath Hospital, Ludhiana participated in the Camp for collection of Blood.
On this occasion Prof Gazal Preet Singh, Principal Poly Wing (Coordinator of this Camp); Prof Gurjeevan Singh (Chariperson-Achievers Society); Mr Gurpreet Singh (Programme Officer NSS Unit I); Mr Rahul Chopra (Nodal Officer Red Ribbon Club Poly Wing); Mr Yashpal (Officer I/c – EFG); Ms Navdeep Kaur, Programme Officer NCC; Mr Balwinder Singh Mohi (PRO); Mr Amarjeet Singh; Mr Gobind; Mr Kamal Khanna; Mr Rahul Sharma; Ms. Anuradha Rani; Mr Rajnish Kumar; Ms. Richa Sawhney; Mr Karamjeet Singh; Mr Manpreet Singh; Mr Ajay Kumar Singla; Mr Ritesh Uppal; Mr N S Bajwa and Mr M S Bajwa were present.
The valedictory function was presided over by Dr. T. S. Sidhu, Campus Director. All the blood donors were felicitated with Mementoes and Certificates during the prize distribution ceremony. All the Blood Donors were provided with refreshment (Verka Milk Bottle and Bananas).
Dr T S Sidhu congratulated all organisers and sponsors for successfully organising this Blood Donation Camp. In the end, Prof Gazal Preet Singh Coordinator of this Camp thanked all the Blood Donors.
