Massive crackdown under CASO by police in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, March 1, 2023: There was a massive crackdown, to make drug-free Punjab and tightening the noose against the anti-social elements and unscrupulous persons, CASO is a regular feature in Ferozepur. During the thorough search operation at suspicious places, under CASO – cordon and search operation – campaign, under the tutelage of Kanwardeep Kaur, SSP, accused under 307 IPC and NDPS were nabbed besides recovery of vehicles without number plates and documents.
Divulging with details, SSP Kanwardeep Kaur said, under CASO raids were conducted at Sodhi Nagar under PS Ghall Khurd and Sher Khan under PS Kulgarhi and PS Talwandi Bahi, as per the inputs and two accused – Major Singh and Gurpreet Singh wanted under Section 307 IPC were arrested.
Under NDPS Act, the accused Harjinder Singh alias Raja of Talwandi Bhai is wanted in two FIRs under Sections 21, 29 of NDPS Act. He was also wanted in another case under Section 22 of NDPS Act.
In another cordon and search operation, 19 suspicious motor cycles either without number plates or without documents were confiscated. However, the same will be released after verification of the documents and action will be taken against those whose documents are found to be fake.
SSP said, the raids under CASO will be a regular feature by the police teams aimed at deterring anti-social elements and instilling a sense of security and safety among the common public as per the directions of the Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab.
