Ferozepur, January 22, 2025: In a crackdown against habit-forming drugs, the health department, led by Inspector Sonia Gupta, Drug Controller, along with a police team headed by Sub-Inspector Satpal, conducted two separate search operations in Ferozepur City.
The operations resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of banned medicines and the registration of two cases under Section 223 of the BNS Act. (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita) which deals with “Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant,”
In the first operation, a raid was conducted at Miss Nitin Medical in Krishna Nagri near Khanna Nursing Home. The team recovered 17,180 tablets of various banned brands and 260 capsules, allegedly stocked by Raman Kapoor and Kunal Kapoor.
In the second operation, a search at PK Medical Agency led to the recovery of 11,111 banned tablets and 1,188 capsules. In all, banned 28,291 tablets and 1,448 capsules were seized during the search operation.
The case implicated Pawan Kumar, the owner of PK Medical Agency, and Rajat Badhwar.
Both Kunal Kapoor and Rajat Badhwar were released on bail at the scene, while further investigations are ongoing. Sub-Inspector Satpal of the STF Range Ferozepur is leading the inquiry into both cases. The health department have reiterated their commitment to curbing the sale of habit-forming drugs in the region.
