Ferozepur, August 1, 2021:  On Sunday, Parminder Singh Pinky, MLA inaugurated Firozshah Tughlaq’s time  – during the ruling the Sultanate of Delhi from 1351 to 1388 – Delhi Gate after renovation.  Earlier, the Bagdadi Gate was made public after renovation and the remaining gates are also under process of renovation, to restore the glory of these pre-partition gates in this border town.

Ferozepur is a historical land of martyrs and number of people not only from India but also from abroad, come to the National Martyrs Memorial Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev beside it has historic gurudwara Saragarhi and 10 gates of Ferozshah Tughlaq’s time – Amritsari Gate, Bansi Gate, Makhu Gate, Zira Gate, Baghdadi Gate, Mori Gate, Delhi Gate, Magazine Gate, Kasuri Gate and Multani Gate.

Speaking on the occasion, Pinky MLA said, the overall development of Ferozepur city and cantonment is the main objective of his life by providing  all kinds of basic and medical facilities to the people living here besides beautifying and developing the city cantonment. He said that he would soon fulfill his dream of making Ferozepur number one.  The major PGI Satelite Centre project of Rs.2000 crore with modern medical facilities will also be available in the city shortly.

He further said that security personnel would also be deployed at all these gates to check thefts etc. in the city so that they could keep a complete record of the people going in and out of the gates besides installation of CCTV cameras in every street mohalla of the city and cantonment within a month and a half and the police would keep a close watch on all the activities of every street mohalla of the city cantonment.

Present on the occasion were Municipal Council President Rinku Grover, Chairman Sukhwinder Singh Attari, Balvir Singh Bath, Dharamjit Singh, Amarjit Singh Bhogal, Kuldeep Ghakhar, Rajinder Oberoi, Chairman Punjab Rajinder Chhabra, Rishi Sharma Ashok Sachdeva, Sukha Karian, Bohar Singh, Kashmir Singh, Satnam. Singh, Navjot Singh, Rajesh Channa, Jakub Bhatti and Parminder Singh Handa were present.
