MAJOR GENERAL RANJEET SINGH MANRAL, SM, VSM, ASSUMES COMMAND OF GOLDEN ARROW DIVISION

Ferozepur, March 09, 2025 – Maj Gen Ranjeet Singh Manral, SM, VSM has taken over command of the prestigious Golden Arrow Division, succeeding Maj Gen Yogi Sheoran, SM. Marking the occasion, he laid a wreath at the Barki War Memorial, saluting the Bravehearts of the 1965 Indo-Pak War and paying obeisance to the Division’s rich legacy of valour and sacrifice.
The Golden Arrow Division has a distinguished history, playing a decisive role in the 1965 and 1971 Indo-Pak Wars. Beyond the battlefield, it has significantly contributed to Nation-building, including infrastructure development and regional security. Under Maj Gen Yogi Sheoran’s leadership, the Golden Arrow Division made significant advances in operational preparedness, modernisation and infrastructure development. His focus on technology adoption and innovation strengthened the Division’s combat capabilities, ensuring its readiness for future challenges.
A third-generation Army officer, Maj Gen Manral was commissioned into the Corps of Engineers in 1990. An alumnus of NDA, DSSC, CDM and NDC, he has held key leadership roles, including command of a Specialist Engineer Regiment and an Infantry Brigade in a Strike Corps. With multiple tenures in J&K and the elite Parachute Brigade, he brings vast experience in high-intensity operations, strategic leadership and modern warfare. Addressing the Division, the General Officer urged all ranks to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, dedication and operational excellence, while adapting to evolving security challenges.
With extensive operational experience and leadership, Maj Gen Manral is set to steer the Golden Arrow Division toward greater excellence, upholding its legacy of service and commitment to the Nation.
