Lions Club Ferozepur organizes Painting Competition with theme –Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao
Ferozepur, May 25,2016 : Lions Club Ferozepur – a non-political international level social organization – organized Painting Competition with theme –Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao at Government High School, Khushal Singh Wala (Rakhri) over a simple and impressive ceremony.
Lion Kuldeep Gakhar, Vice President along with Lion R.Pathak, Secretary and Lion Manjeet Chopra Executive Member presided over the function. Lion Harish Mogna was the Project Chairman of the Painting Competition.
In all 20 students participated in the competition, who expressed their feelings in painting on the given theme of Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao. The entire stationary material was provided by the Lions Club, Ferozepur.
The students who excel in first, second and third position – Sukhpreet, Sonam and Pooja were given a cash prize of Rs.400, Rs.300 and Rs.200 respectively along with a Punjabi-English Speaking Dictionary and a ball-pen.
Lion Harish Monga along with Amandeep Kaur, Activity Incharge of the school, organized the competition among the students. Anmol Rattan and Sanjeev Kumar and other staff had special contribution in making the competition and awareness among the students a grand success.
Speaking on the occasion, Lion Kuldeep Gakhar,VP said, “To give education to the girls is the need of the hour so that they could compete at the global level in every field”.
Gakhar also announced a financial assistance of Rs.2100 to the school for the shed where mid-day meal is cooked.
Thanking to the members of Lions Club, Shivani Arora, Principal said, “There is a need to have regular such programmes by the social organizations so that students – who are the future of the nation – are groomed well to understand their responsibilities for the betterment of the society as well as nation.
