Lahore High Court orders security to observe Bhagat Singh’s Martyrdom Day

Ferozepur, March 20, 2018: In a recorded message, Imtiaz Rashid Qureshi, Chairman, Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation Pakistan and advocate by profession has said that on our petition, Lahore High Court has directed the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) of Lahore to provide fool-proof security to a function at Shadman Chowk in Lahore to mark the death anniversary of freedom fighter Bhagat Singh.

Qureshi said the court has taken the plea that had cited threats and sought security.

The court had directed to approach the CCPO on March 21 to finalize the security arrangements.

Added here that Qureshi had filed a writ petition contending that the organisers of the March 23 event should be given security and he had been received threats on phone for the celebration of the event.
