Kulwant Singh DC Ferozepur wins heart during his short stint of 4 months, Mayank Foundations bids emotive farewell on transfer

Ferozepur, June 17, 2020: Mayank Foundation, a social welfare NGO, felicitated Deputy Commissioner Kulwant Singh, who has been transferred after serving at Ferozepur for four months. The honour was offered to him for the exemplary and leading role that he played during the corona pandemic. The DC has been transferred to Taran Tarn, another border area.

Mayank Foundation had played a pivotal role in collaboration with the district administration in rendering social services on various fronts to the residents of the town in the first phase of the corona pandemic lockdown. The DC had led from the front and had guided the foundation and the officials of various departments to reach out to the people to alleviate their sufferings during the tough phase of lockdown. So, in recognition of the role being played by the civil servant, the members of the foundation decided to honour him as a mark of respect on his transfer, informed Dr. Gazalpreet Singh of the foundation.

While Deepak Sharma, a founding member of the foundation in an emotive tone said that though any employee of any rank has to abide by the official orders of transfer, yet the news of transfer came as a shock, as the DC had won the hearts of the residents of Ferozepur for his noble services. In a mere span of four months, he had undertaken works that earned him special respect among all the sections of people.

Another member Rakesh Sharma said that he made all-out efforts for ferrying the migrant labourers in the special Shramik trains to various parts of the country. His iconic gesture of buying bicycles from the outgoing migrant labourers evoked a thumping response from various parts of the country. We wish he would have posted here for a longer period of time.

A Souvenir, by the various members, on behalf of the Foundation was presented to the DC.

Kulwant Singh, outgoing-DC hailed the role the Foundation for the social cause. He said he will cherish the memories of having worked in close cooperation with the organization during his posting for four months. Meanwhile, the members of the foundation offered him best wishes for his new assignments.
