Kulbir Zira booked under Section 307, Raja Warring says it is an act of vindictiveness

Ferozepur, June 12, 2024: Kulbir Singh Zira, ex-MLA Zira, who recently contested from Congress seat in Khadoor Sahib Parliament Constituency during Lok Sabha Elections held on June 1 but lost, has been booked in FIR No.65 of June 6, 2024 under Sections 307, 447, 427, 107, 148, 149 of IPC 1860 and Sections 25 and 27 of Arms Act, 1959 in the case State Vs Mahinderjeet Singh of Basti Bute Wali, Zira.

Punjab Congress President, Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, criticized for registration of the case, without any evidence which is an act of vindictiveness aimed at suppressing opposition voices.  Now the name of Kulbir Singh Zira has also been included at Sr.No.8 Let the police also register another case who had been injured in the incident and is under treatment. Warring announced plans for a massive protest.

It is a case of land dispute between the two groups and forcibly cultivating the land despite a stay from the High Court.

The case has now been registered against Mahinderjit Singh the uncle of Kulbir Singh Zira and his son and others. The other accused booked in the FIR are Mehakdeep Singh, Baba Karnail Singh, Dr.Rashpal Singh, Chairman, Nagar Council Committee, Zira, Buta Singh, Balwinder Singh and one Unknown person.

The case has been registered on the statement of Gurnam Singh of village Baggi Patni in Zira (65 years) who is an agriculturalist and had 8 acre 12 marla land near Gurdawara Singh Shaheed and holding it a possession for the last so many years in 1992, his father Bakshish Singh in the cases against Mahinderjit Singh of Basti Bute Wali in the High Court, was given the stay. He further stated that when we came to know that Mahinderjit Singh and others were cultivating and I along with my son Gurlal Singh, brother Joginder Singh and others reached on our tractor when Kahinder Singh with 315 bore arms and other unidentified persons were standing in the field and cultivating the land.  When the arguments were going on, a phone from Kulbir Singh former MLA Zira was received by Mehakdeep Singh.  In this incident, Guirlal Singh was injured in a firing and counter-firing firing and was shifted to Zira Civil Hospital later on, being serious, was shifted to DMC Ludhiana.
