Krantikari Kissan Union Punjab to protest for their demands with traffic jam on February 7
Ferozepur, February 6, 2018: The Congress government has backed out from its pre-poll promises of waiving of the loan, employment to youths, employment in each house, old age pension, shagan scheme etc. and introducing anti-people policies to extend the benefit to the corporate houses.
Speaking on this occasion, Avtar Mehma, President, KKUP said the government has shut down the Thermal Plant, introducing meters on tube-wells, recovering of cess on canal water and bank officials and arthias are regularly after the farmers for recoveries, with the result, the farmers are committing suicides in the state.
On the other hand, centre government led by Modi has announced new scheme to grab the land of the farmers by giving it to the corporate houses on contract to double their income whereas it is another move to snatch their lands, he said.
The government to provide benefits to the companies, de-controlling everything to extend benefits to them which will stop the government procurement from the farmers, he added.
Despite various agitations by the farmers, the government is not paying any heed to their demands, he further said.
Mehma said, the right to the demonstration by the aggrieved persons is also being withdrawn and in this context, to register their protest for their genuine rights, the Krantikari Kissan Union Punjab has decided to jam the traffic in the state on February 7, for two hours.
