Ferozepur, April 20: Kala Peeth Ferozepur, A literary institution, committed for spreading “Word Culture” in a small town on Indo-Pak Hussainiwla border organized FACE TO FACE WITH DARSHAN SINGH DHILLON, known migrant writer and Editor of ‘Charcha Punjab’ this Sunday.
The impressive and simple ceremony was presided over by Prof.Jaspal Ghai while M.K.Rahi, Satirist and Deepak Sharma joined as special guests.
Anil Aadim highlighted the activities of the Kala Peeth in the field of literature and language.
After the formal welcome by Prof. Jaspal Ghai and reading out of compositions by Dev Hasan, Renu Sodhi, Vijay Victor, Surinder Dhillon and Vinod Garg – Darshan Singh Dhillon had a face to face talk with the audience.
Sharing his life history, Dhillon said, the only aim of my life is that I have always taken a firm stand during the rival circumstances and not fought. Despite my odd circumstances, a BA pass student had been a Counselor and Deputy Mayor for 16 years in England by virtue of my intellectual ideology.
During the Moga fire incident in 1972, I was influenced towards leftist philosophy and till today I am following that view point. During terrorism, the people-popular writers and the audience were provided a platform in England with the start of ‘Charcha Punjab’ which programme is still a regular feature. Tolerating the sorrows of migration, the project for opening of Libraries was started in Bharti Punjab for the development of Punjabi.
Appreciating the activities of the Kala Peeth, Dhillon said, now when the people-popular powers are in pomp and grandeur, the bazaar have taken a place in our minds instead of houses, then the responsibility and importance of these small institutions become more vital.
On this occasion, Dhillon was honoured with a ‘Shawl’ as a token of love and affection by Prof.Jaspal Ghai, Anil Aadm, Deepak Sharma, Harmit Vidhyarthi, Kuldip and Surinder Kamboj on behalf of Kala Peeth, Ferozepur besides presentation of a set of books of writes of Ferozepur.
