Joint teams of excise and police recovered major haul of 1.10 lakh litres ‘lahan’

Ferozepur, October 14, 2020: Continuing its spree against the illegal liquor in the state, the joint teams of Excise and Police department today conducted raids in the enclaves of confluence of Sutlej and Beas at Hari ke and  recovered a major haul of 1.10 lakh litres of lahan in Tarn Taran, and Ferozepur districts of the state.

Divulging the details a spokesperson of the Excise department said that the joint teams of Police and Excise department destroyed 1,10,000 litres of lahan in a major operation involving the two districts.

He further said, 25 Tarpaulins , 10 iron drums and 1 aluminum utensil were recovered and taken into custody and approximately 5 quintals of dry wood and 4 wooden boats taken into custody.

Subsequently the team destroyed the lahan in the fields/river and started process of registering the case and got registered an FIR No.124/14-10-2020 lodged at PS Chohla Sahib.

Action against illegal liquor will continue in the coming days till the state is not made free from this scourge,  added the spokesperson.
