Indian Army Celebrations 2019
Ferozepur January 16, 2019: A band and equipment display was organised under the aegis of Golden Arrow Division at Captain Sundar Singh stadium, Ferozepur on 16 Jan 2019 as part of Army Day celebrations 2019. The event was declared open to the public by Major General Jasbir Singh Sandhu, General Officer Commanding, Golden Arrow Division.
Maj Gen said the Indian Army plays a stellar role in nation building during war and peace. Army day is an opportunity to showcase traditions, valour capability and way of life of the Indian Army to the future generations of the Nation.
A wide range of sophisticated weapons, guns and other equipment of the army were on display to kindle the patriotic fervour and pride amongst the youth and motivate them to join the ‘Noble Profession’ in service of the nation. A large number of school and college students, government dignitaries and locals from adjoining villages attended the event. The students were excited to get a first-hand experience of weapons while many students enthusiastically handled the military equipment.
The army offers a challenging opportunity for the youth, to include warfighting and numerous avenues for adventure, sports as also understand the culture and traditions of the country. A counselling centre was also set up to provide information to students on various entry schemes to join the army. The Military Band enthralled the crowd with its traditional martial tunes.
