IMA Punjab to organize Annual National Conference “IMA NATCON-2016” at Amritsar
Ferozepur, December 9, 2016: Indian Medical Association (IMA) Punjab is organising “IMA NATCON-2016” on 27th-28thDecember. It is the 77th Annual meeting of Central Council of IMA and the 91st Annual National Conference of IMA. The event will be held at at Radisson Blu Amritsar.
The National Conference is being held in Punjab after 1962 and it is proud privilege for the IMA Punjab to host with an aim to update the doctors community with the latest knowledge and skills with feast focusing on what was new in the year 2016 and a decisive business to update IMA stands, position statements and policies on burning issues, which directly or indirectly involves community and medical fraternity.
Around 2.75 lacs doctors are registered with the IMA against the ten lacs doing practice in the country.
Dr.R.L.Taneja, State President, IMA and State Counsil Member will be co-chairing the NATCON-2016, said Dr.Vinod Khanna, President IMA.
Giving this information to the media persons, Dr.R.L.Taneja, Dr.Harsh Bhola State Council Members, Dr.Vinod Khanna, President, Dr.Sheel Sethi, Vice President and Dr.Awtar Singh, Secretary said, this Conference is likely to be attended by thousands of delegates from all 1765 branches of IMA from all across the Country.
Dr.Taneja said, the Organising Chairman Dr.P S Bakhshi and his team are making all efforts to make NATCON a memorable event. The invited guest speakers are eminent Physicians of the Country and excel in their respective fields.
He further said, in addition to the main Conference the Organising Committee has arranged six pre-conference workshops at different Venues across Jalandhar and Amritsar. The various preconference workshops are on 24th ,25th ,26th and 27th December.
To encourege young doctors to present papers, the organising committee has invited free papers from across the country and almost fifty lecturus will be delivered in this session, he added.
Besides, all major pharmaceutical companies and equipment manufacturing companies will put their products on display at the IMA Expo 2016 which is being organized on the side line of the main conference. The delegates attending NATCON 2016 will get an opportunity to update their knowledge regarding the latest drugs and equipment, said Dr.Vinod Khanna.
Dr.Khanna said, during the conference, there will also be live telecast of operations direct from the theatre followed by discussions from the delegates.
The IMA NATCON-2016 will also have cultural programme keeping in mind the well known Punjabi Hospitality Bhangra, Gidda and Gatka performances have been arranged during the conference banquet in addition to sumptuous food according to Dr P.S. Bakhshi, who is the organising chairman of NATCON-2016. The IMA have also made arrangements for sightseeing for the visiting delegates, said Dr.Khanna.
