Happy Mann NGO made an appeal to Shaheed Bhagat Singh to save the farmers moving towards committing suicides
Ferozepur, September 29, 2017: Happy Mann – a social activist running the Youth Kamal Organization (YKO) –committed for the welfare of farmer’s community much concerned about the plight of the farmers.
On the 110th Birth Day Anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, shared his views with the public – in the presence of Gurjit Kaur, niece of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Singh – who had specially come to attend the celebrations at Hussainiwala.
Earlier he has filed a Public Interest Litigation – PIL – for implementation of Dr.Swaminathan’s report and expressed dissatisfaction over the various schemes of the Centre Government. The farmers are not being paid by the Centre Government, as per the cost on sowing with the result the farmers are compelled to live a poor life and under debt.
Making an an appeal for justice to Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat, Happy Mann in an emotional speech said, the leaders of the country have divided the industrialists, government system and farmers in three categories. In the first category are a handful of leaders and capitalist posing themselves as follower of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and true son of Bharat Mata who have looted the country and transferred crores of ruppes in the foreign banks. Because of this category of person, India which used to be called as Golden Sparrow – is standing on the verge of poverty and bankruptcy.
In the second group, certain employees are black sheep who are involved in illegal means to accumulate funds with vested interests. He said, no doubt vigilance teams are available to nab the corrupt persons to set right the system but no senior bureaucrats have been booked so far.
Talking about the third category of farmers and laborers who are around 89 per cent , he said, they don’t have not faith over the existing system in view of increasing number of suicides by the farmers and baking of political vested interests.
He asked the system running persons that youths of the time, who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country, as to where the farmers of the freedom country – a great contributor in the food bowl of the country – should go now for their livelihood.
