Govt. School Lecturers Union, Punjab to boycott exams during March

Ferozepur, February 3 (FON Bureau) : To register protest against for non-promotion of lecturers having more than 20 years services, an important meeting of Government School Lecturers Union (GSLU) was held at Moga.

There is a great resentment among the lecturers community for non-implementation of promotion quota from Lecturer to Principal with increased percentage from 55 per cent to 75 percent as approved by the Cabinet.

In a press release, Hakam Singh Walia Presdient, and Major Pardeep Kumar, General Secretary said, the union has decided to intensify the agitation and organize protest at all the district headquarters on February 8 besides showing resentment at the Sangat Darshan programmes before the Chief Minister.

The Union leaders further stated that in case there is no solution to this genuine demand by arranging a meeting of the Union leaders with the Education Minister, the Union has decided to boycott the coming annual exams during March. The union has demanded to implement the decision taken by the Cabinet without any loss of time.

On this occasion, leaders from all over the state were present.
