Govt. should implement welfare schemes properly, merely advertisement would not suffice : Dr.Daler Singh Multani
Ferozepur, August 22, 2016: There is lot of difference between ‘Saying and Doing” so far as Cashless Insurance Scheme for Punjab government employees is concerned, said, Dr.Daler Singh Multani, Chief Advisor, PCMS Association.
Giving example of treatment of his own wife at the PGI, he said, the cashless health insurance scheme is not acceptable at the PGI and he has to make arrangements to deposit Rs.2 lac on the spot and he is facing financial crisis and mental tension.
Dr.Multani said, the introduction of cashless health insurance scheme for the Punjab government employees is only exploitation of employees and they feel cheated.
Dr.Multani posted at Govt. Hospital Mamdot said, the government has taken the credit of launching the free health insurance scheme for Rs.3 lack by giving advertisement but non-implementation of the scheme in the listed hospitals, the employees are passing through great hardship.
He further said, a number of patients visit the PGI as the people have inclination towards PGI being a government hospital. The name of PGI is included in the empanelment list of hospital under the scheme but despite this, the government employees and members of their families are not getting treatment causing of lot of inconvenience to them which proves the hollowness of the scheme.
Dr.Daler Singh Multani said, the scheme was welcomed at the time of its introduction as number of representations were received for its implementation. He demanded that the PGI should also be brought in the list so that employees seeking treatment for chronic diseases could enjoy the benefit of cashless scheme.
