Former Commissioner’s son brings honour to Ferozepur

Ferozepur, June 7, 2015: Sumit Sharma, a local lad and son of V.K.Sharma, former Commissioner, Ferozepur/ Faridkot Division once again bought laurels to this border town by securing All India Rank 224 in the prestigious UPSC Civil Services examination declared today.

Sumit has followed in the footsteps of his father – V.K.Sharma, former Divisional Commissioner.  He attributes his success to hard work with inspiration from his father.

It is worth mentioning here that Sumit Sharma had already cleared various competitive exams like Probationary officer, RBI Grade B officer. He had also cracked PCS Exams in 2012. In 2013, he had secured 575th rank in the Civil Services Exams. Now after clearing the UPSC, he has moved to IPS.  Currently he is working as District Excise Officer in Patiala.
