Ferozepur, April 24, 2015: A major fire broke out in Narula Food Refinery Plant at village Sarup Singh Wala in Guruharsahai near Ferozepur in the wee hours at about 4.30 am. The fire tenders were fighting to extinguish the fire. Initially, shot-circuit is reported to be cause behind the cause of incident of fire. Huge loss in crores reported to have caused due to fire.

Eight fire tenders from Faridkot, Muktsar, Fazilka, Ferozepur, Moga and Abohar have to be called to distinguish the fire and it took six hours to control the fire. As per the information, the filled oil tankers caught fire and flames were so high which could be seen within a radius of 15 KMs.

According to Ravi Narula and Ashok Narula owner of the industry, by the time the fire could be controlled, the loss of machinery and raw material stored in the containers is estimated to be of  Rs.40 crore.

Immediate on getting this information, Jaspal Singh Gill, SDM Guruharsahai reached the spot to take stock of the situation.  Jait Pal Tehsildar and Sulakhan Singh DSP also helped in extinguishing of fire.  The owner of the industry demands compensation from the government for the total loss.
