Ferozepur youth dupes youth with dummy tickets and hotel bookings on pretext of Visa for Canada
Ferozepur, July 7, 2023: The Ferozepur police has booked two persons – one of Talwandi Bhai and other of Gurdaspur, who has allegedly been deputed a youth of Talwandi Bhai town in Ferozepur district by immigration office at Gurdaspur on the pretext of sending them abroad, with dummy tickets.
The two accused identified as Baldev Singh of Gurdaspur and Kulvir Singh of Talwandi Bhai have been booked under Sections 420, 46 and 120-B of IPC 1860, on the complaint of a youth from Talwandi Bhai police station.
The victim informed that Kulvir Singh of Talwandi Bhai introduced him to Baldev Singh of Gurdaspur, who works as a travel agent for arranging visa for Canada and later on arranging work permit. The deal was struck at Rs.12 lac with half payment on visa and the rest amount after reaching Canada. Initially, Rs.2.40 lacs was transferred in the account of Kulvir Singh as a security and later on Rs.6.47 lac in the account of Baldev Singh.
He further said, the Visa was arranged for Canada for the period 24.1.2022 to 20.20.202 but not giving me passport, hotel book and air tickets. First, he sent me a fake/dummy air ticket and hotel booking but now Baldev Singh is making one or the other excuse. However, he gave in writing on 22.10.2022 to hand over all the documents but till date he has not replied satisfactory.
Now, I have approached the police to get my passport and refund of the amount of Rs.8.87 lacs deposited with the accused as the dummy tickets and hotel bookings are fake and disappeared from the sites and not showing on the internet.
SP Randhir Kumar said, the investigations are on with Jaspal Singh, IO and shortly the accused will be nabbed. He however, advised that the people aspiring to go abroad should get their documents processed only from the registered Immigration firms, to avoid duping, inconvenience and quick action.
