Ferozepur Riders start Drive Wearing Helmet campaign in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, October 23, 2022: Ferozepur Riders – an outcome from Ferozepur Foundation – dedicated for providing food to needy at Civil Hospitals from pre-Covid period, have now decided to create awareness on ‘Drive Wearing Helmet’ by organzing a rally on every Sunday starting from Harish Vegetarian to Hussainiwala and back by passing through the City and Cantt areas.
The first trial was held today and Shalinder Kumar, with whose concept the initiative has been taken, has invited the interested person to join this event.
Expressing concern over the deaths on road due to head injuries by not wearing the helmet, Shalinder Kumar Laroia said, our aim is create awareness among the masses to wear helmet while driving under our motto ‘Drive Wearing Helmet’ besides avoiding to use mobile while driving adding if it is so important, put break to the vehicle by the road side and listen to the mobile with free mind.
He said, No doubt, wearing a helmet is compulsory as per the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, and you might face a penalty for not wearing a helmet in India yet wearing a helmet is not just to comply with the law; it is also to ensure that you are safe while you are on the road.
Shalinder said, as many as 1.73 lakh people lost their lives in around 4.22 lakh traffic accidents in the country during the last year and majority of it could have been avoided, had the helmet been used while driving and thus we can save the precious lives to greater extent, by creating awareness among the people to wear helmet while driving.
