Ferozepur residents demand change in timings of Shatabdi Express
Ferozepur, November 29, 2017: The residents of Ferozepur have demanded the change in timings of Shatabdi Express which runs between Ferozepur-Delhi starting from Ferozepur as the existing time is suitable for them.
The New Delhi–Firozpur Shatabdi Express is a high-speed train operated by Indian Railways, running between from New Delhi to Ferozepur. It operates as train number 12047 from New Delhi to Firozpur and as train number 12048 in the reverse direction serving the states of Delhi, Haryana & PunjabThe train would run twice a week, on Monday and Friday, at 4 AM from Firozpur, and would return from New Delhi at 4:20 PM the same day. Three additional stops have been provided too — at Tohana in Haryana, and Kotkapura and Faridkot in Punjab since its extension up to Firozpur.
Sharing this with the Babushahi.com, Arvind Nayyar, spokesman of Auto Spare Parts Association said, the existing time of Shatabdi from Ferozepur is 4 am and arrival time at Delhi railway station is 11.30 am taking 7.30 hrs.
The timetable should be adjusted in such a way that it should not take more than five hours as the existing 7.30 hrs time is a long journey and time left for attending to the market and office work is too short.
Arvind Nayyar said, a request to this effect was also given to the Divisional Rail Manager sometime back but the timings have not been changed so far causing inconvenience to the people.
He said, the departure time should be changed from 7 am to 4 am to get sufficient time at Delhi to attend to the personal if one has to come back on the same day by evening journey.
