Ferozepur records dip in COVID cases, fatalities

Ferozepur, June 2, 2021:  After a spate in the cases for weeks, Ferozepur recorded dip in fresh COVID cases and fatalities in the district.  However, one more Black Fungus case was reported. With one death today due to Covid and 85 new positive cases, the tally has gone to 410 deaths and 1,141 active cases with recovery of 285, in the district.

During the month of May, 5,207 were tested positive and 90 deaths and recovery was 84 per cent.

One more case of Black Fungus (Mucorycosis) have been reported, out of which 5 are under treatment in the hospitals, two have cured and one died.

As per the report, 1,77,181 samples were taken in the district, out of which 1,63,570 were tested negative, 13,004 positive, 11,479 recovered, 1,141 active cases and results of 607 samples are still awaited.

The containment zone are 3 under observation while 4 more micro containment zones – one at Mamdot and 4 at Guruharsahai have been declared taking total to 31 at Mamdot, Guruharsahi, Ferozshah, Kassoana, and Ferozepur Urban areas.

With withdrawing one micron containment zone, still 3 containment and 29 micro-containment zone are still under close observation of health department.

With one death of 45 years old in Ferozepur Urban block, the total tally is now 410 deaths in the eistrict.

In the vaccination drive, today 732 persons were given Covid vaccine making the total as on date to 1,24,565 persons including the frontline and health workers.
