Ferozepur police conduct Flag March jointly with CRPF and RAF
Ferozepur, March 27, 2023: The Ferozepur police along with CRPF and Rapid Action Force -RAF, hold late evening Flag March in the crowded and sensitive and suspicious areas of Zira, Makhu and Ferozepur.
The Punjab Police have conducted flag marches across the state in light of the crackdownon the supporters of Amritpal Singh, the self-proclaimed Sikh preacher of Waris Punjab De.
Heavy police force was deployed at sensitive areas and nakas in the district to avoid any untoward incident. Randhir Kumar, SP(D) said the police arranged a flag march jointly by the security forces in the late evening and all nakas strengthened in the district.
He said, the flag marches are being conducted to maintain the law and order and the security in the district has been tightened. Section 144 has been implemented to avoid undue gathering but not to stop anyone from doing their routine business.
The police are for the security of the masses and hence we are conducting flag marches, he said.
He added that in case someone finds anything suspicious, they can call 112, the police helpline number. The identity of callers will be kept anonymous. We will take legal action if anyone tries to take the law into their hands. There is complete peace and harmony in the district, he added.
He further said that strict action as per law will be taken if anyone found spreading fake news, rumors and hate speech.
He also appealed to the citizens not to pay heed to fake news and rumors and to fact-check authenticity from the police. Punjab Police is committed to maintain law & order and rule of law in the state.
