Ferozepur police bust major drug ring: 5 peddlers arrested with heroin, drug money

Ferozepur, August 31, 2024: In a significant breakthrough against international drug smuggling, Ferozepur police have arrested five drug peddlers and seized heroin along with substantial drug money. Acting on a tip-off, a police team led by SP (Investigation) Randhir Kumar, DSP (D) Varinder Singh Khosa, DSP Ravinder Pal Singh, and CIA Incharge Mohit Dhawan recovered 1.028 kg of heroin dropped by a drone near Kaccha Bandh at Bare Ke.
In a separate operation, four drug smugglers were apprehended with 20 grams of heroin, ₹14,80,300 in cash, and a Verna car. The arrested individuals include Gurbhej Singh alias Bheja from Amritsar, Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh from Gurdaspur, Paramjit Singh alias Pamma from Ferozepur, and Surjit Singh from Guruharsahai. Paramjit Singh and Surjit Singh have prior criminal records, with 9 and 8 cases against them, respectively.
In another raid, police arrested an individual named Sheera from Jailwala in Mallanwala Block, recovering 45 grams of heroin and a motorcycle. All suspects will be produced in court for remand and further investigation.
The police continue to intensify their crackdown on drug networks to curb the menace of narcotics in the region, said SSP Saumya Mishra.
