Ferozepur, March 1, 2022: One person succumbed to bullet injuries in Zira of Ferozepur district in a firing incident at Hawker’s Restaurant, due to past enmity.
Divulging with details, Jagdish Kumar, DSP said, the police got information about the murder at Hawkers’ Restaurant at Zira and working swiftly, an investigating team was immediately dispatched for on the spot inquiry and during the preliminary analysis, the murder of Gurpreet Sigh alias Gopi resident of Patti, District Tarn Taran has come on the surface.
He further said the victim Gurpreet Singh today along with one of his friends reached Hawkers’ Restaurant at Zira where they ordered for Piza. Then two more persons came there who fired with the weapons and fled away from the scene. It has also come to fore that Gurpreet Singh is booked in Arms Act under Sections 302, 307, 148, 149 at Patti police station and wanted in that case. The case was registered at Sarhali Road on November 17, 2021, at Patti district Tarn Taran, in a double murder case over the money dispute. Apart from this, another case under NDPS Act was also registered at Patti on recovery of 5 gm heroin against him.
DSP said, in the preliminary investigation, it has come to the forefront that the murder of Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi is over the past enmity. However, an in-depth investigation is going on and the facts will be brought on the surface for action against the alleged accused as per the law.
