Ferozepur: Murder convict attacks Asstt. Jail Superintendent
Ferozepur, September 19, 2019: In a daring incident, today, one jail inmate attacked with sharp edged weapons on Assistant Superintendent and injured him seriously and is under treatment at Civil Hospital Ferozepur.
Harbhajan Lal, Asstt. Supdt. Jail was on duty along with his team on Wednesday night and one Jail inmate identified as Karamjit Singh, who is facing the imprisonment in the murder case, noticed operating the mobile and on searching one mobile phone was recovered from his possession.
According to ASJ, today, when Karamjit Singh was brought out of the barrack for investigation, he suddenly attacked on him and injured him seriously. He was immediately admitted in the civil hospital where he is getting treatment. A report to this effect has been given in writing to the local police station.
The recovery of mobile phones from the inmates is a regular feature which has put a big question mark on the security arrangements of jail premises and connivance or negligence on the part of officials on duty, at the entry points cannot be ruled out.
