Farmers’ Rail Roko movement disrupts 17 train services in Ferozepur rail division
Ferozepur, October 13, 2024: Today, various farmer organizations organized a Rail Roko movement in the Ferozepur Division, leading to significant disruptions in train services. The protest saw farmers staging sit-ins at about nine different locations.
As a result, two trains were cancelled, and several others faced delays or diversions. The authorities ensured that these stoppages occurred at places where railway passengers could access food facilities to minimize inconvenience.
Help desks were set up at stations, and continuous announcements kept passengers informed about the affected services.
After the protests ended, train operations resumed following strict safety and security protocols.
The 17 affected trains were – 04591: Partially Cancelled (Tangra to Chheharta), 4592: Partially Cancelled (Chheharta to Tangra), 12380: Diverted (Amritsar to Beas), 14674: Rescheduled, 14505: Late Departure, 14506: Diverted (Beas to Amritsar), 12029: Diverted (Beas to Amritsar), 12497: Diverted via Beas, Tarn Taran, Amritsar, 14615: Late Arrival, 06947: Delayed, 01612: Delayed, 06991: On Time, 06983: Partially Cancelled (Nakodar to Lohian Khas), 06984: Partially Cancelled (Lohian Khas to Nakodar), 06960: Cancelled, 06955: Cancelled, 04597: Delayed
The railway officials are continuing to monitor the situation to ensure the smooth resumption of services.
