Farmer commits suicide in Ferozepur

Ferozepur, March 16, 2017:(Vikramditya Sharma): Another farmer belonging to this border district allegedly committed suicide yesterday evening. The deceased has been identified as Sucha Singh (40) son of Dhanna Singh, a resident of Village Talwandi Zalle Khan in Zira sub-division. As per information available, Sucha Singh was under heavy debt due to which he had to sell his agriculture land and at present he was farming on the land which he taken on lease. Kuldip Kaur, the wife of the deceased said that last night her husband went to the field without telling anyone. Today morning his body was found hanging in the fields near tubewell.

Balraj Singh, Jagroop Singh, Pritam Singh, Kulwant Singh, Gurdev Singh, members of Krantikari Kisan Union demanded compensation for the deceased farmer.

When contacted, BS Dhaliwal, Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur said that the case for compensation has been sent to the government.
