Ferozepur, July 12, 2020:  Kissan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee – KMSC – Punjab, today in its meeting held at village Ansal, under the tutelage of Inderjit Singh Kaliwala, President, to plan to gehrao the residence of Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Union Minister, on July 21, to register a protest and express their resentment, against the three new agricultural Ordinances promulgated by the Centre.

Condemning the three Ordinances and calling these as a step, to deprive farmers of the facilities, being availed of by them after making great sacrifices and long struggles.

Satnam Singh Pannu, State President and other leaders of the Committee said, we will demand to cancel the amendment Bill of the Ordinances. He said, during its last tenure, the Modi government has taken all anti-farmers and anti-people decisions such as demonetization, one nation one tax, one nation one ration card, citizenship amendment bill etc. just to safeguard the interests of the corporate sector and the centre was ignoring the development of the farm sector as the small-sized farms would go into the hands of multi-national companies – MNC by breaking the existing system of operataion in 7,000 mandis of the country including 1,873 in Punjab.

He said, the Ordinances are also against the fundamental spirit of the federal structure of the country as the Union government is also taking control over the power sector from the States through another Power Amendment Bill 2020.

Making a statement of do or die attitude, appealed to the Modi government to take farmer-friendly decisions by opening 42,000 mandis, ensuring the marketing of farmer’s produce with suitable MSPs, making provisions for the compensation in the event of any unnatural eventuality, compensation to the farmers against damaged crops due to floods, strengthening the Dhusi bandh, withdrawal of cases against the farmers by the railways, and ownership to the small farmers of panchayat lands and implementation of 14 agreed demands by the Chief Minister.
