Faculty, Staff and Students of SBS Campus contributes towards Relief for victims of Nepal Tragedy

Feroepur, May 18,2015: (Harish Monga):The devastating earthquake which ripped through Nepal on Saturday, 25th April, 2015 in which over 8000 people have lost their lives and a million have been displaced. Many have lost their houses and continuous aftershocks are making relief work even more difficult. According to local media reports, dozens of buildings, including historical landmarks, in the Nepalese capital of Kathmandu have been completely levelled.

 

Sewa Barti (Regd) Society is working with the local population and providing relief to people affected by one of the most destructive earthquakes Nepal has seen in recent times. The Society aims to bring hope and relief to children and families whose lives are threatened in the wake of disasters.

 

With the support of committed donors among Faculty, Staff and Students of Shaheed Bhagat Singh State Technical Campus, Ferozepur has joined hands in providing food, shelter, water and healthcare facilities to Nepal victims.
The main focus is to overcome logistical obstacles and bring relief to people living in some of the hard to reach rural areas. The college contributed Rs.40,000/- in the relief funds to Sewa Bharti (Regd) Society, Ferozepur. Dr T S Sidhu (Campus Director) presented cheque of Rs.40,000/- to Sh. Dharampal Bansal, Chairman Sewa Bharti Society, Ferozepur. Mr Gazal Preet Singh, Principal Poly Wing and Mr Tarlochan Chopra, Secretary Sewa Bharti Society were present during this occasion.
