Elders celebrate World Sr Citizens Day

Treat in-laws family as paternal family to end all family disputes: S P Sharma

Ferozepur, August 21, 2022:  The members of Senior Citizens Forum on Sunday celebrated World Senior Citizens Day at Baghban and seven lucky senior citizens were honoured by the newly elected President for 2022-23, Pardeep Dhawan and his team members.

A cake cutting ceremony was also performed by the outgoing President SP Khera and incoming President Pardeep Dhawan.

Speaking on the occasion, Pardeep Dhawan said, it is proud to be a senior citizens and it is the responsibility of all of us to take care of each other. During the current, we will take care of senior citizens who are not able to attend the meetings or had any personal problems by visiting their homes.

In the meeting, the elders shared their personal experiences of life with the members saying it is really a fun to attend the monthly meetings.

Kulbhushan Gautam stressed for discouraging the opening of old age homes rather we should pass on the culture of joint family system.  The elders must be taken care of by their children who has given a lot to them and it is now their turn for a return gift.

SP Sharma expressing his concern over the increase in family disputes said, the root of most problems is the difference in one’s upbringing. Each family has its own values, traditions and routines.  if the daughters in their in-laws treat the whole family as paternal family, I feel, there will be no problems in any of the house, and the planet earth will itself be a paradise.
