Eid celebrated with religious fervor, enthusiasm in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, June 16, 2018: Eid is being celebrated across India with great religious fervour and festivity and there is enthusiasm among the Muslim community in Ferozepur on Saturday..
The day dawned with special prayers for peace, progress and prosperity of the country at the local Masajid. Muslims celebrate not only the end of fasting but also thank God for the help and strength that He gave them throughout the previous month to help them practice self-control. Following the Eid prayers, Muslims spend their time feasting with family and friends and feeding those who are less fortunate.
Eid is an Arabic term meaning "festivity" or "celebration" while Fitr means "to break the fast".
Faithfull in large numbers attended special prayers held at the Dargha at Malwal Road to celebrate the EId, marking the end of the month-long Ramadan fasting by hugging each other.
Exchanging pleasantries after Niskar, Muslims gave alms to the poor and organized feasts.
On this occasion, Iqbal Khan, Mohammad Musatkeet, Mohammad Subhan, Saleem, Haji Irfan, Aamir Khan Gulam Mustafa, Mohammad Latif and members of Muslim Welfare Society, Ferozepur in hundreds were present.
