Ferozepur, July 21, 2020: In what may be called a new normal after corona scare, the Education Department, Punjab continues to embark on a virtual journey in making things happen to range from online classes, virtual exams, and department meetings to holding online educational competitions.
In the latest turnaround after holding successful bi-monthly virtual exams, the officials of Ferozepur education department held a series of video conferences with the school heads and principals to gear up for holding song competition as a part of the celebration of 400th Birth Anniversary of Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji. The department has planned a year-long celebration of the event to spread the teachings of Guru Ji.
The school heads have been asked to ensure maximum participation in the event which had already kick-started with ‘Shabad Gayan competition’ on July 6 prior to the bimonthly tests. In a series of video conferences, District Education Officer Kulwinder Kaur and Deputy District Education Officer Komal Arora instructed the school heads that it is the need of the hour to provide the students a different set of things that can recreate their minds after the rigorous last week of online tests.
Speaking on the occasion the DEO said that following the Shabad Gayan competition when our students came with amazing videos, now they have a chance to showcase their talent in the singing competition. The teachers have been asked to encourage more and more students to upload their videos. The teachers have already been preparing the students for the competition and it is hoped that the students are enthused to get themselves before the public through the videos.
Gurwinder Singh, District Mentor English, who has also been assigned the duty to coordinate the teachers and students in the district through block mentors (BMs) said that instructions have been passed to the school heads who are making it sure that students get proper guidance and support to enlist themselves for the competition. We have collected information on the students who are willing to take part in the competition. We are holding video conferences with the school heads and the teachers.
