Drug raid exposes medical store scandal: Over 17,000 Intoxicating pills seized in Ferozepur

Ferozepur, April 7, 2025: On Sunday, the drug department, along with the police team, raided and investigated Shiv Shakti Medical Store near the bus stand in Ferozepur city. Seven types of narcotic drugs were recovered from there. The police have registered a case against the medical store operator.

DSP Sukhwinder Singh and drug inspector Sonia Gupta said that a complaint was received that banned medicines were being sold at Shiv Shakti Medical Store.

A person was trained before checking the medical store, and he was sent to get the medicine. When he brought the banned medicine, a raid was conducted. Drug Inspector Sonia said that 560 tablets of Tapentadol and 140 capsules of Gabapentin were found at Shiv Shakti Enterprises. These medicines are banned. The medical store operator was also unable to provide the record of medicines bought and sold. Apart from this, the unlicensed warehouse of Rajinder Kumar, located in the lane in front of the SBI ATM near the bus stand, was also inspected, from where 12650 tablets and 3960 narcotic capsules were found. The team seized narcotic drugs.

The medicines have been confiscated. Apart from this, samples of 3 medicines have also been taken.

Drug Inspector Sonia said that medical store operators selling narcotic drugs will not be spared. She said that action will continue in the future as part of the campaign against drug addiction.

DSP City Sukhwinder Singh said a case has been registered against the medical store operator Rajinder Kumar under Section 223 of BNS and 188 IPC.
