Ferozepur, October 23, 2023: In a joint search operation, the 182 Battalion of BSF and the Police of Thana Mamdot have recovered the drone sent by Pakistan. The recovered drone was found lying in the field of Hithar, a village near the Indo-Pak border. It is suspected that the recovered drone was seen 2 days ago in Sahan, a village near Mamdot.
Mamdot police station in-charge Gurmeet Singh said that on Sunday, an informer informed him that a drone was lying in a field near Hithar in the border village of Rau. On getting the information, he immediately informed the 182 Bn BSF officials. Later on, a joint search operation was conducted with the jawans. A broken drone was recovered during the search operation. The recovered drone was lying in the agricultural land of Vidya Rani’s wife Rulia Singh. BSF officials said that this apprehension is being expressed that 2 days ago there was a drone incursion in the forward area of BOP LS near the village of Sahan, which was also fired by BSF personnel to shoot it down. The drone did not return to Pakistan but was damaged and fell into the village. The distance between the drone’s infiltration site and the recovered site is 7 km. The police sources said that a case has been registered against an unknown person in the case of drone recovery under Sections 10/11/12 of the Aircraft Act 1934 and an investigation is being done.
