DRM rebuts news of workers returning home
Ferozepur, April 10, 2021: Divisional Rail Manager, Rajesh Aggarwal rebutted the news appeared in certain newspapers on April 9 that Jalandhar workers are returning to their homes from the city railway station.
No doubt during the last year, several migrant workers who lost their jobs had gone back to their home towns in Shramik trains but now they have come back even amid an unfolding second wage of Covid. In the first wave, there was panic but now everyone understands that by adopting precautions every show can be run to live.
DRM informed that there is no unprecedented crowd of passengers at the Jalandhar railway station of Ferozepur division.
He further said that only those passengers whose ticket is confirmed and RAC are being allowed to travel following the Covid-19 protocol. When questioned by the passengers at Jalandhar City Railway Station, they said that the wheat crop has been harvested and they are returning to their home (home state) as the wedding season has started.
