Diwali – full of darkness and tasteless for 93 Lab Attendants in Education Deptt. working under RMSA
State Govt. failed to arrange matching amount for Centre sponsored RMSA scheme
Ferozepur, November 12, 2015: Diwali – known as a festival of lights – was full of darkness and tasteless for all the 93 Lab Attendants working in the various schools in the state under Rashtriya Madhyam Sikhya Abhiyan (RMSA) on account of non-payment of wages since April, 2015.
Sandeep Kamboj, District President, RMSA Lab Attendants, along with his colleagues, presented a memorandum of demands to Circle Education Officer, Baljit Kaur when Jagsir Singh, DEO was also present.
The Lab Attendants apprised the CEO and DEO as to how difficult is to live without wages for months together ?
Kamboj said, a deputation of LAs have also met the Dr.Daljit Singh Cheema Punjab Education Minister and Deputy Chief Minister a number of times, in this regard but without any fruitful results.
Both CEO and DEO assured to take up the issue for early release of wages.
Present on this occasion were, Deepak Sharma, Kamal Sharma, Davinder Nath Sharma, Inderjit Kalsi and Sumit Galhotra.
However, the sources said, the RMSA is a central sponsored scheme and the Punjab Government has to add the matching amount with the grant released by the Centre to pay wages to the staff. In the instant case, certain amount was received but the state government failed to arrange the matching amount.
Kamboj said, if the teaching staff which produces every class for the society and country, we can well imagine the status of our country at the global level.
