Distt. Administration Ferozepur dispatched relief material for earthquake-hit survivors in Nepal of Rs.13 lakh
Ferozepur, May 3, 2015: The recent natural calamity in the form of earthquake and aftershocks have devastated in Nepal killing more than 7000 people and injuring more than twice as many. It was the most powerful disaster to strike Nepal that hundreds of thousands of houses were destroyed rendering people homeless with entire villages flattened across many districts of the country.
The district administration Ferozepur has taken the initiative on humanitarian ground to dispatch the relief material – tents and blankets – worth Rs.13 lakh for Nepal victims.
Er.DPS Kharbanda DC Ferozepur the relief material from all the districts in the stated will be collected at Chandigarh from where it will be air-lifted for Nepal.
He also appealed to the people to donate generously for the quake survivors.
Giving this information, Ashok Behal Secretary Red Cross said, the Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur Er.DPS Kharbanda has taken the initiative to send the relief material of 20 tents and 200 blankets of the value of Rs.13 lakhs from the Red Cross Society.
