Ferozepur, March 22, 2020: Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur Mr. Kulwant Singh has said that the district administration has successfully traced out 511 foreign returnees and has placed them under 14-day home quarantine period under the supervision of medical experts.
He asserted that the remaining persons will be traced within 24 hours as special teams have been inducted to this task.
Divulging more, the deputy commissioner said that a total of 702 persons were returned from foreign countries as per information received from airport authorities of the country and a mammoth practice was initiated to trace all of them. He added that not even a single positive case of Corona Virus has been reported in the district so far.
He further added that out of these 702 foreign returnees, the district administration has tracked down 511 persons and remaining 191persons will be traced out in next 24 hours adding that the administration will leave no stone unturned to trace all the foreign returns in the district.
The deputy commissioner stated that all these persons have been put under home quarantined for a period of 14 days as prescribed by the government of India and under the monitoring of medical experts.
During this quarantine period if no symptom of Corona Virus is surfaced , they will be free from the home isolation.
He further exhorted people who have returned from abroad to come forward for Corona test and inform about their visit and arrival to the district administration by informing on helpline number 104.
Mr. Kulwant Singh further called upon people to inform about the people who have returned from abroad in their localities as this will help the government in the fight against Corona Virus.
The deputy commissioner said that special teams are working round the clock in the district to trace the foreign visitors and a large number of people have been traced by now.
He further added that this task is incomplete without the positive response and cooperation of society.
