Despite amicable settlement, one group challenged other over small issue of children
Ferozepur March 25, 2019: With the model code of conduct in force since March 10 with the announcement of elections, against the total arms licence in Ferozeur of 22430, only 14933 have been deposited which comes to 66.57 percent. Harbans Singh of village Waghewala alleged that in a controversy over small issue of children of two families at the religious function at village Wahge Wala in Ferozepur, turned in to clash between the two groups, despite amicable settlement by the police reached on the spot and panchayat members of the village, but one group once again challenged the other group, who were seen moving with the weapons and no action has so far been taken by the police in spite of lodging the complaint.
Giving this information of the incident in a Press Conference held at Press Club Ferozepur, Balwant Singh of Waghewala said, there is a congregation in memory of Sant Baba Karam Singh and this year too it was concluded on March 20 in the village. On March 21, a group of persons – Jagdish Singh, Mehal Singh of Dhani Mehal Singh – attacked on them when they were busy in pack up of goods in the gurudwara. A call was made on 100 number and the issue was resolved amicably by the panchayat.
He alleged that again on March 23, the said persons along with 50-6- unidentified having weapons challenged and used an abusive language and also fired and the video was also recorded and put on social media. It was a violation of the model code of conduct in force from March 10.
Balwant Singh also alleged one police employee named as Jagdish Singh sepoy in the village gives unnecessary threatening and might have called the persons from outside.
Demanding strict action against the alleged accused, he also demanded that the weapons may be confiscated and licence cancelled. While the other party is reported to have said baseless charges have been leveled.
