Dera Sacha Sauda Chief clears his stand – No support to any political outfit so far
Ferozepur, January 30, 2017: Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Sect Chief Dera Sacha Sauda – who was online with the media persons in 7 states and 37 district headquarters today, to promote his forthcoming movie being released on Febraury 10 – titled Hind Ka Napak Ko Jawab produced by Haqiqat Entertainment based on Surgical Strike – MSG Lionheart 2, indirectly to clear his stand on support to any political outfit in view of visit of several Assembly election candidates from SAD-BJP and Congress in Punjab to his dera at Sirsa ahead of the February 4 polls in the state.
Despite preparations for video conference a month ahead, Sect Chief DSS could not be online due to some technical fault but could be heard replying to the questions from other stations. In reply to queries from media persons from other districts/blocks of Malwa region, he said, there is no word so far with regard to support to any particular political party. But he uttered without mentioning about the elections – Hame Ek Saath Rehna Hai. Saad Samgat Jaroor Khud Faisla Karegi”.
All the three political parties – SAD-BJP, Congress and AAP locked in a fierce electoral battle are leaving no stone unturned to woo as many as voters as possible for victory in the forth coming Assembly elections in Punjab.
It is said that with influence in more than 56 Assembly segments, deras, which are religious group with a large number of followers could influence voters in the Punjab elections and sway mass votes one way or the other.
There are around 9000 deras in Punjab. Desides Dera Sacha Sauda and Radha Soami satsang, there are Dera Ballan, Dera Nurmahal, Dera Nirankari and Dera Namdhari. It is said most of the deras have influenced voters at one time or the other in the past.
One of the local dera follower told that no decision had been taken so far by the political wing of Dera when asked if the political wing had decided to extend support to any particular political outfit.
There had been lot of controversy over release of his first movie – MSG – Messenger of God and Dera Chief is not looking back to try acting skill in MSG-II followed by Hind Ka Napak Ko Jawab.
When asked about the future plan in Bollywood, Dera Chief said, my next try will be for comedy film just to prove that comedy without double meaning can also be created.
It is pertinent to mention that Dera has a number of followers in many areas of Punjab, especially in the Malwa region having number of bulk seats in the 117-member Punjab Assembly.
In 2007, Dera Sacha Sauda had openly support the Congress in Punjab but the party did not come to power as it could won more seats in Malwa region than SAD. In 2012, the dera had not give support to any party, whereas it had supported BJP in 2014 elections in Haryana.
