DC Ferozepur launches Swachh Bharat App, nominates 9 Swachhta Brand Ambassadors,
Ferozepur, October 2, 2017: On the celebrations of 3rd Swachh Bharat Campaign today on birth celebrations of Mahatama Gandhi – Father of Nation and Lal Bahadur Shastri – former Prime Minister, Ramvir, Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur launched Swachhata App, administered the oath not to contaminate himself nor allow anyone else and to contribute at least 100 hours time every year and named 9 Swachh Brand Ambassadors.
Launching the Swachhata App, Ramvir Deputy Commissioner said, in the event of any complaint about the cleanliness in the city, a photo of the site may be clicked and loaded on the Swachhata App and the issue will be immediately resolved.
Speaking on the occasion, Ramvir Deputy Commissioner said, we should follow the path of cleanliness shown to us by Mahatama Gandhi.
Deputy Commissioner said, Mahatama Gandhi’s dream was not confined to political freedom it included the imagination of clean and developed country. Gandhi got us freedom by breaking the bonds of slavery and now it is our duty to serve our country by contributing in the Swachh Bharat movement.
Vineet Kumar, ADC said, we have to inculcate the habit of cleanliness among us besides recognizing the services of those by giving them due respect, I mean, Safai Karamcharis, who are really involved in it. To keep the country clean is not only the duty of the Safai Karamcharis rather all of us. The healthy society can only be created by keeping our surroundings neat and clean which will help us keep ourselves free from number of diseases.
He said, none of the campaign can be successful without the support of the people of the area and thus we can make the pollution free atmosphere.
Ashwani Grover, President, Municipal Council thanked all the citizens and NGOs for earlier awards to Ferozepur.
Harinder Bhullar, a known comedian assured the district administration to campaign for Swachh Bharat with a special talk about it during his shows and movies.
Dr.Satinder Singh who anchored the programme sharing his views said that we should not remain limited to the cleanliness of the environment but should also include the cleanliness of the mind.
Present among others Ashwani Grover, President, Municipal Council, Ferozepur; Malkit Singh District Education Officer, Dr. Praveen Aggarwal, SMO, Ferozepur, Sunil Sharma, District Sports Officer, and representatives of various social service organizations and academic institutions were also present.
The representatives of various NGOs and educational institutions were honoured for their cooperation in Swachh Bharat Mission and those who have extended assistance during the last three years to make this mission a success were made as Swachhta Brand Ambassador of Ferozepur – Dr.Kamal Baghi, Dr.Satinder Singh National Awardee, Madhu Prashar, Principal, Dev Samaj College for Women, Sohan Singh Sodhi, Harish Monga, Amrik Singh DPRO, Harinder Singh Bhullar, Malkit Singh DEO, and N.S.Gill, Nirankari Mission.
Later, the representatives of various institutions cleaned the District Administrative Complex under the cleanliness campaign.
Conveying thanks to all present on behalf of the district administration, Sukhpal Singh, Nodal Officer said, the Municipal Council has been successfully completed the target of forming the 50 Swachhta Clubs in Ferozepur who will contribute to keep the city neat and clean.
