One booked for posting woman’s private pics on social media under fake ID
Ferozepur, August 17, 2024: A close relative by misusing the trust, first scanned her WhatsApp and then viral on social media by making fake ID on Instagram, has been booked under Sections 66B, 66C, 67A, 72 IT Act 2000 and 35(2) BNS.
In a shocking incident, Raman Singh of Chak Muhande Wala in Jalalabad, who is the uncle of Jyoti of village M S Wala in Fazilka, complainant, frequently visited her house and took advantage of her trust by scanning her WhatsApp on his phone. He accessed all her photos, including some personal and intimate images of Jyoti and her husband. Raman Singh then edited these photos and videos, making them explicit, and proceeded to share them widely on social media platforms like WhatsApp and Instagram.
Despite efforts to block the circulation, the photos continued to spread, accompanied by obscene comments. Raman Singh further escalated the situation by threatening Jyoti, claiming he would defame her if she didn’t comply with his demands. The woman is now living under constant fear as Raman Singh continues to harass and intimidate her with abusive language and threats.
