Contractual Rural Health Pharmacy Officer dies- family demands compensation and job
Ferozepur, January 5, 2021: Today, a deputation of Rural Health Pharmacy Officer, Punjab led by Hanu Tiwari, President presented a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner, addressed to Chief Minister, Punjab, for compensation and job to the family of deceased Parmidner Singh, RPO, 40 years old, posted at Sodhi Nagar, who died due to heart attack on January 2, leaving behind wife, daughter, son and parents.
Speaking to media persons, Hanu Tiwari President said, we request the Punjab government to give Rs.10 lakh compensation to the deceased family besides a job as per the eligibility to look after the family.
He said, 1186 Rural Health Pharmacy Officers are working in Punjab since 2006 on contract basis and despite assurances; the services have not been regularized. Our class is being exploited for the last 15 years and passing through the stress conditions.
Earlier also, one of our colleague in Patiala had committed suicide to financial constraints. Now, Parminder Singh posted at Sodhi Nagar Health Centre had died due to heart attack as he could not get proper treatment due to financial problem, he added.
In the memorandum, RHPOs had made an appeal to the Chief Minister to give compensation of Rs.10 lakh to one of the deceased family member and arrange Panel Meeting at the earlier to regularize their services at the earliest for living a comfortable life.
